Today I’d like to talk about the wealth of useful tools and mechanisms you have at your disposal to help you get further along in your extra sensory perception.  First, you’ll have to understand that the world of the five senses is a very loud and consistent one.  You’ve been able to sense this world your whole life.  One of the reasons the blind exhibit such a high extra-sensory potential is because their sight is constantly blocking out the “hidden” world around them.  Luckily, we can achieve a state similar to this without losing any of our senses.

You may notice when you first use our telepathic entrainment therapy that a whole new world of ideas and thoughts can seem to come at you from nowhere.  This is normal.  Unfortunately, telepathy and “internal thoughts” are often mingling with one another because there is no sensory apparatus distinguishing them while fully conscious.  It’s interesting to note, however, that dreams are often psychically motivated by showing us events that will one day happen or that have happened from another time.  For this reason, those who are psychically inclined often find it useful to write down their dreams.  Not only does this allow you to recall events that may in themselves be psychic impulses, but it allows the barrier between the subconscious and conscious to have an open link between the two of them.  These images can help us, if we keep them in our memory, to show how the subconscious interprets things differently.

Additionally, you may find it useful to keep track of “hits” and “misses” with a notebook.  A notebook to keep notes of your development is important in all ways, but it’s of particular import in the field of telepathy as these sudden impulses are very important and very subtle.  Why wait for a one in a million chance to get a “hit” at the right time when you’ve told someone else, when you can study your own abilities in a notebook while you’re developing your talent?  Be sure to mark any hits, and study the time and general situation around when you received your impulse and the nature of the event itself.  You may be surprised just how often you are making the right calls hours or even days in advance.  And this is the talent you must nurture.

There are also other tools you can use as means of divination, but the pitfalls involved here are numerous.  For one, a pendulum under perfectly controlled circumstances can be a translation from your subconscious vibrations to give you important information, but it also can be influenced by external forces as well.  A sudden gust of wind could make a pendulum give a false positive, for example.  If you use these tools do so at your own discretion and be aware of environmental influences that could affect your ability.

When you receive an image of another person, you are often replaying a recorded memory of that person, or using your imagination to imagine how they would or could react in a situation.  Imagination and memory are different reflexes, and many people surveyed have indicated that each in turn “feels” different to the mind.  If you are aware of how these two thought processes “feel,” then it will be particularly easy to channel your memories so that you are observing rather than remembering or imagining.

There is some anecdotal evidence that caffeine, in modest amounts, can have a positive effect on psychic ability.  Of course the effect has not been thoroughly quantified, but is generally accepted to be negligible.  It’s important to take into consideration your health, and therefore the positive effect does not seem worth a change in diet.  Therefore, if you drink coffee in the morning be aware of the difference once you’ve awakened your telepathic abilities, but do not rely on these chemicals.  Everything you need will come from your own mind.  In addition, scientific research suggests that dissociative drugs have a negative impact on telepathic ability both to project and observe telepathic impulses.

Another common misconception is that people have a telepathic “range” that one must enter in order for it to be effective.  On the Apollo 14 mission in 1971, Edgar D. Mitchell conducted an experiment aboard the shuttle where he concentrated on a sequence of several random numbers, and “projected” them to Earth.  On Earth half of the psychics “guessed” the right numbers a statistically significant number of times.  Mitchell and others were shocked to find that the 150,000 miles between the shuttle and the nearest recipient was not a factor in their accuracy.  As a result, those educated in telepathy often discount the notion that one must be within a certain area in order for telepathic communication to take place.  The governing principles are associated more with state of mind than location of mind.  Stories of wars from the past also support the findings of this experiment, where spouses would receive a psychic impression of their loved ones passing to the other side or being in danger despite being entire continents away.  So don’t lose heart if the one you’re trying to contact is far away.  Just “tune” yourself to your own telepathic potential and the rest is simple: practice makes perfect.
